I thought of Jesus. I thought of the people He hung around with. I thought of the homeless, the sick, weary, and hungry. I thought of children in Haiti, Kenya, Somalia - I thought of children in the streets downtown.
Fear tells us that the life we dream of, doesn't happen for people like us. He tells us that we're mediocre and that's all we'll ever be.
We strive for the American dream. A beautiful house, successful career, happy family that we tote around in the biggest, nicest car necessary. See what we missed?
We're not going to give what's ours to someone who is going through a rough time. Clearly, it's their fault, they made poor choices so now they must deal with the consequences. It's not our problem.
Let's scale back. Let's think about what we want and what we need.

If we begin teaching them to do this life together - with love; the world will change. It will have no choice.
