I thought of Jesus. I thought of the people He hung around with. I thought of the homeless, the sick, weary, and hungry. I thought of children in Haiti, Kenya, Somalia - I thought of children in the streets downtown.
He proclaimed the joy that would flood Heaven over one person. The person, like you and me, who needs a savior. The person who has stumbled, fallen, rejected, manipulated, and seemed to be so far away - we'd never be accepted.
What happened when we stopped pursuing God's will for our lives and started listening to people instead?
Our past and our present successes/failures may be different but our desire to be understood, heard, and accepted course through our veins.
The weight of your world that you're carrying? It just doubled, tripled...because you're no longer just carrying the weight of YOUR world - you're carrying the weight of THEIR world too
Big breath in, Lord Jesus. Big breath out, give me grace.
What are we doing? We're actually filling the potential silence in our lives with noise. Rather than sitting still, embracing what's around us - we fill our minds with more noise.
Let's scale back. Let's think about what we want and what we need.
you can't stop getting your morning coffee because you never got it in the first place
They would think we're failures - there's no possible way they would understand.
